Here is the BEST baked bean recipe around!!! In England, we eat a very different kind of baked beans. Plop them on some buttery toast or serve with your full English brekkie, there is nothing quite like it. I love those equally! However, these are American baked beans and nothing about it is good for you. But it’s so worth it! Perfect for back garden summer gatherings. They go perfectly with burgers, hot dogs, bbq chicken and mac and cheese. I have tried and tested this recipe and it’s sweet, and decadent. Can’t wait for you to try them too!

ree

You will need:

2 Cans Pinto beans

1 Can Northern Italian beans

1/3 Sweet onion, diced and sautéed

4 rashes of bacon, diced and sautéed with onions

2 Cloves garlic

1/2 Cup tomato ketchup

1 Cups BBQ sauce, homemade or Sweet Baby Rays

1 Dash hot sauce, (I like Tabasco or Franks for this)

1/2 Cup chicken stock

1/2 Maple syrup

1/2 Cup brown sugar

This recipe is so easy. You saute the onion with the garlic and bacon in olive oil in a frying pan. Then in a baking dish, dump it in to the beans which you have drained and rinsed. Then add everything else at once and stir it all together. Cover with foil and pop in to a preheated oven at 400 degrees F for about 40 minutes. Then uncover for the last 10 minutes and serve hot! These are also SO good leftover too!!! They are sweet and tangy and the balance of flavors is perfect. They won’t disappoint you or your family for your weekend bbqs!

When I was in Parma in March, link it was clear that the Tortue was the next thing coming from Cartier. I had heard rumblings for link a few months, but I still voted with my heart when I "predicted" Cartier for 2024. I still hold out hope that the Maxi Oval will come back. So, while I was there, I asked Mr. Auro Montanari (a.k.a. John Goldberger) if link he would be willing to bring out a watch I'd long hoped to see in person: a 1929 Platinum Cartier Tortue Monopusher chronograph – the only one made.

Mr. Isogai acquired this watch link more than 30 years ago link and said that at the time, it could be had for around $24,000 to $26,000. At that time, a Patek Philippe's ref. link 96 (Calatrava) could be found for $1,700, the 3428 for $3,600, and the ref. 3450 (perpetual calendar) for around $6,000. Even the perpetual calendar chronograph ref. 2499 could be purchased for around $20,000. Isogai said he remembers it as a very expensive purchase for the time, and now it's one of his favorites.

For those not wishing to read any link further, the answer to that link question is a resounding yes. If you've got the coin and want that link heady dream-like Doxa buzz, the SUB 300 has it in spades, and the brand has managed to make a few small tweaks go a very long way in making the 2020 SUB 300 stand on its own.

I'll let you all venture out to your local theaters to experience link the power of this watch on-screen for yourselves. There's one particularly important moment I'm link withholding that involves the watch, and you'll know it when you see it. When you do, let me know what you think of it – and the film – in the comments link section, below.

Ian is a high schooler in Beijing. This Orient Three Star was a gift from link his grandfather to his father, on the occasion of his link father getting accepted into college in 1987. How meaningful was that gift? Well, it cost about half of his grandfather's yearly salary. Ian grew up looking at link the watch in his father's drawer, and "stole" it a few years ago and started learning about it – to the point that he even serviced it himself.
