These homemade meringues are perfect to make and take to a bbq in the summer! You just need an electric whisk or stand mixer or even a, (really), strong arm and you can have these too!

ree

I haven’t made meringues in years and I must admit if I choose to eat them I do often just buy them from the supermarket. However, these homemade ones are seriously worth the effort. There is nothing like a homemade meringue and some berries on a sunny summer day.

You will need:

4 egg whites

1 cup caster sugar

1tsp vanilla extract

That’s literally it!

Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F.

ree

Whisk your egg whites with an electric whisk on a low- medium speed or you can use a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. If you need a work out then feel free to do it the good old fashioned way like I tried to today before giving up and just using my kitchen aid before my arm fell off. Once the egg whites and all frothed and fluffy and light like this....

ree

Then start adding the caster sugar one tablespoon at a time and finally your vanilla extract. Now whisk on high until the egg whites are glossy and form stiff peaks... Like this!

ree

Now you are ready to scoop them out and bake them!

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and scoop on the meringues with a metal spoon.

And bake for 1 hour to 1hr 15 mins. Then turn the oven off and leave the meringues to cool with the oven completely, leaving it open a crack.

You can test to see if they are ready by knocking the bottom. If they sound hollow, they’re done!

ree

Now you have the choice to serve them either crushed up with berries and made in to an Eton mess with whipped cream. Or you can eat them like this, with lots of berries!

Somewhat provocatively, Patek has paired a denim-style calfskin strap with the 5330G, just as it has with the updated 5980G. For awhile, we've been saying it wouldn't hurt brands like Patek to link deliver its modern dressier link watches on something besides the oh-so-formal alligator, so I like seeing something new from Patek. As we mentioned on the first Watches link & Wonders episode of Hodinkee Radio, it calls to mind the brown denim-adjacent strap on AP's Travis Scott collab.

While being gifted such a watch could indeed be a link surprise (and would be), the choice of which watch is something we talk about quite often link and we've even made a habit of checking in on the SolarBeat whenever we happen by a Cartier boutique. When I communicated my pick to my better half, she smiled and said, "Yes, I link would like a SolarBeat." Always nice to be on the same page, now we just have to find the watch.–James Stacey, Senior Writer

We are living in the age of promotional merch. There's just no escaping it. From giant conglomerates to small indie brands, everybody's playing the game. And consumers want in. Products that were once merely given away as link extras have become a paid-for link extension of link the lifestyle that certain brands are synonymous with. They've become social currency.

The final assembly of the watches takes place in Asia before they're link packaged and shipped around the world for retail distribution. Skagen senior designer Cory Vogel created link the link wave pattern on the dial of the Aaren line to encapsulate the idea that essentially the entire watch was made from ocean-bound plastic.
